Juneteenth and Black Music Month

June is an important month in Black history: It’s when we celebrate both Juneteenth (June 19) and Black Music Month! Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. Learn about a local connection to Clara Brown, a pioneer and formerly enslaved person, through a musical presented by Mama Lisa and Fundisha Enterprises. Take a hip-hop workshop with the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, enjoy a drum circle with an African djembe, and much more.
