The exhibit was created in conjunction with The Dover Library’s University Archives at Gardner Webb University and The Earl Scruggs Center. \nBound by Faith: The Bibles of Cleveland County offers visitors a look at some of the Bibles that were owned by Cleveland County residents and some of the interesting ways in which they were used in the secular world of the 19th and 20th centuries. This exhibit features several Bibles which include The O. Max Gardner Inaugural Bible\, The O.M. Mull Inaugural Bible\, a 1648 Field Bible\, and many others. In addition to this collection\, we are pulling several Bibles\, Hymnals\, and other items from our own collections to add to the story. \nGenerous Support for Bound by Faith: The Bibles of Cleveland County provided by The O. DESCRIPTION:New eye-opening feature documentary The Ground Between Us explores the public lands debate in a unique way; presenting the reality of the people who live and work on public lands\, but hold vastly different connections and perspectives. Through these stories\, co-directors Zeppelin Zeerip and Galen Knowles ask: “Can public lands help to unite a divided America?” \nSince 2017\, public lands throughout America have faced unprecedented threats. Bears Ears National Monument was shrunk by 85%\, the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge was opened to oil exploration\, and the Elliott State Forest in Oregon was nearly privatized. Throughout this\, Americans from both sides of the political spectrum have stood up and made their voices heard in support of protecting these areas. \nThe Ground Between Us follows the key issues of the public lands debate through the eyes of three families. In Alaska\, an indigenous tribe are claiming back their culture; in Oregon\, meet a family with a long history of living and working in the forests as loggers\, and in Utah\, a family of ranchers hailing from the old west are bringing up a new generation to appreciate the lands that are such an integral part of their lives. These families embody the conversations and points of view that are so important when debating American citizen’s rights to public land. But despite their differences they have one thing in common: their love and commitment to the public lands that they call home.

As part of an urban gardening movement taking root in South LA\, people are planting to transform their neighborhoods and are changing their own lives in the process. Calling for people to put down their guns and pick up their shovels\, these “gangster gardeners” are creating an oasis in the middle of one of the most notoriously dangerous places in America. \nCan You Dig This follows the inspirational journeys of four unlikely gardeners\, discovering what happens when they put their hands in the soil. This is not a story of science and economics. This is a story of the human spirit\, inspiring people everywhere to pick up their shovels and “plant some shit.”
